John M. A. Forman

Master of Science in Geology, Stanford University, USA, 1967; Postgraduate in Mining Geology and Ore Treatment, University of Brazil, RJ, 1964; and Graduation in Geology, University of Brazil, RJ, 1961.

He is currently Director of J.Forman Consulting. Previously he was:

• Member of the Committee for the International Year of Planet Earth – UNESCO;
• Director of ANP – Brazilian regulatory Agency for oil & gas;
• President of the Association of Friends of the Science Museum;
• Member of the Board of Directors of CPRM;
• Plenary Director of CIESP – Center of Industries from the State of São Paulo;
• Division Director of FIESP – Federation of Industries from the State of São Paulo;
• Executive Vice President of OPP PETROCHEMICALS S.A.;
• President, Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of UNIPAR – Union of Petrochemical Industries;
• Member of the Boards of Directors of several companies in the petrochemical sector (UNIPAR, CARBOCLORO, DETEN QUÍMICA, OXYPAR, POLIOLEFINAS, PPH, TRIKEM, CAPUAVA INDUSTRIAL CARBONOS, PROPPET, PETROCHEMICAL UNION, COPESUL);
• President of INB – Indústrias Nucleares do Brasil S.A.;

He received the Order of Rio Branco Medal from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1980, with official status; and the commendation of the National Order of Scientific Merit of the President of the Republic of Brazil since November 1996.
