Geologist from the University of Brazil (1961) and Master of Science from Stanford University (1967). He has been President, Director and Member of the Board of several companies in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Nuclear and Mining sectors. In the academic sector he served as Professor at UFRJ – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro; and Director of CNPq – Brazilian National Research Council.
